I included this parallax (motion scroll) background photo just to illustrate that I do enjoy learning new trends—though, just like everything, it will soon be another overused feature.

But, for now, it is just kind of cool.

“I will solve your problem and you will pay me.”

— Paul Rand to Steve Jobs

As a Graphic Designer, I have been both employee and freelancer—usually at the same time—for more than 25 years.

As a freelance graphic designer, I work with individuals, business professionals and organizations who want to get their own message out, enhance and brand their image, and grow their business or organization.

I have a strong design background, specializing in:

Print material  (brochures, business cards, letterhead, business collateral paperwork)

Publications  (newspapers, catalogs, magazines)

Branding  (logo design, newsletters, web presence)

Marketing collateral  (ads, flyers, web ads & banners)

Web design  (visually engaging, uniquely designed,
interactive/responsive, email campaigns)
I designed & created this website including the animations.

Photography  (product shots, photo editing, retouching)

My design work is custom freelance.  I offer fast turnaround—with a whole career dedicated to deadline—and offer competitive rates (quotes are by project.)  I am accustomed to long and late hours and have a real professional home office, (not just a desk with a computer in a back bedroom), because it is such a big part of my life… to create.  It is hard to explain, but there is truly something satisfying with creating and completing a project that my client(s) and I are proud of.

Being a ‘creative’ means that you are often haunted with a design concept and cannot rest until it is out of your head and on paper or screen.

This is actually the hardest section to create on my website...

[ Que heavy sigh, yawning & eye-roll ] If you'd like to skip this rambling section and are looking for the (long & likely boring) pertinent experience and career information about me, please just click RESUME to the left, and download the PDF.  I apologize for it being long (I know, a resume no-no), but I have over 25 years of design experience and that just won't fit on one page (unless I make it 5pt. type.)

About me...  I was born and raised in upstate New York (no, nowhere near the city.)  I will always be a pasty Yankee even though I moved to southwest Florida (Fort Myers, now, Bradenton) more than 26 years ago.  When I actually do get away from the warm glow of my computer screen, it is likely to result in a sunburn (but I do it anyway!)

When I actually get to take a breather between creative projects, I enjoy a good movie; packing up the camera gear for a 'photo safari'; and spending time with my boyfriend (?), partner (?) (what is the correct parlance for that at 48 years old?) and seeing my fun, wonderful family.

I spend way too much time on my iPhone/iPad either watching tutorial videos for the current software I am "geeking-out" on; pinning nonsensical 'likes' on Pinterest; browsing friends' Facebook lives; and jump-starting the creative juices with caffeine.

I love to laugh and I have (been told) a great sense of humor.  (Growing up in my family, you had better be able to take a joke.)  I believe in a few simple ideals:

You can only eat an elephant one bite at a time.

We ain't curing cancer here.

Be silly... Be honest... Be kind.

Feel free to contact me (there is a contact form below or click the link to send an e-mail without the form nonsense)... Let me know if you have any questions; or a creative project you need help with or if you'd like to share good joke.
